“Critical Error” is a nu-metal-inspired metalcore single that gives voice to burnout caused by the relentless, anxious pursuit of validation. The song grew from frontman Trevor Tyson’s experience with anxiety, depression, and severe burnout, and confronts the cost of building an identity around productivity instead of purpose.
